Council, in conjunction with SunWater, Gladstone Area Water Board and Livingstone Shire Council has recently submitted a proposal to State Government to have one controlling water body in the region, of which Rockhamtpon City Council will retain part-ownership. This proposal would mean that the people of Rockhampton will have a stake in all present and future storages in the Lower Fitzroy, not just the Barrage.
